I was really lucky and got picked up by a guy who hitchhiked a bunch in his life and he brought me to a better place.Wouldn’t really recommend unless you can’t get out of Paris

Third car stopped, with sign "A6 aire de lisses", very good spot to find a ride to the aire de lisses, where you can easily get longer drive. As someone said theres not much space for cars to stop, but if you're fast and you can jump in. There's also traffic lights where it might be easier.―Iaclem

The spot here and the roundabout are not to bad. But unfortunately i couldnt get a ride for 2hrs there, even thought there where plenty of cars.Had to reach aire de limours-janvry. I went there with a bus and than I hitchhiked 5km and climbed about the fence. There i could find someone fast

Not an ideal spot as cars don't have much space to stop, but it still works. Most cars go at least to the roundabout of "Les Ulis" which is probably a better spot.―WhinniePuuh

During the day, nearly all cars passing hear go to the Christ de Sacoay station, which is a good spot for reaching the highway. In the morning though, there is always a big traffic jam, and half of the people are turning before to rech the CEA research campus.

Single male, no French, big laugh but started to disappear after 5 hours. I arrived this place at 14.00. FIRST DAY, I waited 4 hours until I decided to set my tent. I tried everything, sign with "Lyon, Sud de Paris, Paris", thumb, askimg around and nothing. Plenty of cars, actually ton of them but no one was taking me. As you get closer to Paris you see that "Parisian" nonwelcoming attitude. I set my tent at the north western end of the Aire, next to where truck restpoints were. Nobody bothered me. Asked Mcdonals for cardboards and they gave me some. Chill place as I think they are kind of used to hitchhikers. And second day, I started early and tried to catch early birds. After 1 hour with sign of Lyon I got back to Paris. First I wanted to avoid Paris and hoping to find a long distance ride who was also gonna skip the city. But as the suffering progressed, I understood that I dont have the luxury to make a wish. After 2 hours, two hitchhiker girls came next to me. we chatted a little bit, I told them I was waiting here for 8 hours now and told them they have more chance then me, they found a ride 5 minutes later. They asked people. After few more hours bees started to attack me so I changed my position. this cursed land doesnt wanted me in their premises. When I came back I saw a couple who was doing the thumbs up in my old spot. Talked with them! They were cool and I stood a little front of them for an hour. I didnt wanted to spent another day in this gas station so I gave up to hitch to the closest bus stop and move to Paris. Right before I leave the gas station, this crazy french chick Illen stopped in front of me with a handbrake! She asked me where, and I said anywhere! She took me to a train station in Paris, Pierrefitte Stains. Then I took the D train to south from there. It is lovely how universe giving you small surprises in these frustrating moments :D So total 9 hours of waiting time. A lot of cars, but they are not picking. A hard spot for a single male woth no french. Good luck out there stalker!―whiterabbit

Beware of drovers heading to the airport who want to help, wait for a ride going further north to catch a good service station for long distance.―Streamrider

Was a bit slow at 08:00am. Delivery driver was going a short distance but thought he could get me to a better spot - traffic had other plans.―Streamrider

Maybe we were lucky but we thought it would be much more difficult to get a ride to Paris from the comments above. We had a sign and waited just before the toll, there is space for cars coming on the right line to stop. A guy going to belgium took us all the way to Paris surrounding, we were two with a dog (on a friday afternoon).―Anonymous

We were dropped at this spot Sunday afternoon by a frequent driver who told us he usually picks hitchhikers there, and added that all drivers going from Rennes to Paris drive through this spot.We were a group of 3 so lined up along the exit, used thumb and sign and got picked up relatively quickly to be taken to Paris!
